Core Reflection- Katie-Jane

As core comes to an end I begin to reflect on the past 13 weeks. Upon reflection I am blown away by the sheer volume of information my brain has consumed. My first few weeks in the program I experienced quite a bit of imposter syndrome. As an IS undergrad in Kelley, I assumed I would be adequately prepared for the course load and material that MSIS entailed. I was wrong. The first few weeks required quite a bit of adjustment as I acclimated to the effort the following weeks would require. On top of the individual work, I was also tasked with developing a strong working dynamic with my core team. The EY case was a great introduction to the level of teamwork core would require. We were four strangers thrown together and tasked with a hefty problem and limited amount of time to solve it. We had to quickly learn each other's strengths and find a way to communicate effectively together. The EY case set the tone for how our team would continue to work together throughout the semester. We have strived to always value each other's individual strengths and use them to our advantage in every group assignment approach.

Keeping each other's strengths in mind I think were able to learn from one another and grow individually, as well as a team. This is reflected in our post skills assessment in which our individual ratings have increased, bringing our team skills up as well. I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with this bright group of people, and am confident they will be valuable connections in the future.
